Valor Mortis, one of the most awaited launches this season, is opening its gates very soon. Because no pre-ordering or pre-loading is available, everyone gets to buy, download, install, and play the game at the exact same time. That is actually quite refreshing as most games these days offer a headstart for a price.
Valor Mortis Launch Times and Price
The game officially launches on October 13 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S at 10AM PDT / 1PM EDT / 6PM BST / 7PM CEST. The game is also a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass, available to Ultimate and PC Game Pass members.
While the full game is not available to PS Plus members, there is a 90-min trial for Premium members. And since it is a timed access to the full game, and not a demo, the progress can be carried over to a purchased copy.
The Standard Edition carries a price tag of $39.99 / €39.99, while the Deluxe Edition is available for $59.99 / €59.99. The latter includes three upcoming weapon skin packs and a major story DLC, which is a complete side story, arriving in 2027.
What to expect from Valor Mortis at Launch
One More Level has also shared the console performance targets for Valor Mortis. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will offer a Quality Mode with dynamic 4K resolution targeting 30 FPS, alongside a Performance Mode with dynamic 4K targeting 60 FPS.
The review embargo lifts later today but Game Director Radosław Ratusznik recently revealed plenty of gameplay information during a Reddit AMA. The game features semi-linear progression through open, handcrafted levels that encourage backtracking. Players can find optional areas, secrets, shortcuts, and side quests, all while utilizing movement mechanics that retain the studio’s Ghostrunner DNA through wallrunning and grappling.
Combat revolves around six unique weapons: a saber, rapier, greatsword, pistol, rifle, and blunderbuss, alongside three transmutations. Each weapon has its own upgrade tree to customize your build.
A standard playthrough takes about 20 hours for the main story and completionists will need 25 hours or more to see everything. The development team also plans to add New Game+ and alternative game modes post-launch.
