The dual-wielding mechanic had previously only been seen with other characters like Jackie, who used two pistols long before Update 2.5. In just a few days, V will be able to do the same. It remains unknown whether this will be restricted to pistols or if other weapons can be combined. The ten episodes will tell a standalone story featuring new characters, meaning it is not a continuation of David Martinez’s journey from Season 1.
The story focuses on characters like Weak, a former legendary edgerunner forced to survive without his cyberware, and D, a netrunner on a mission for revenge. The series delves into themes of family, obsession, vengeance, and legacy.
The update will feature new items and content inspired by Edgerunners 2. Exactly which characters, items, or locations will make the transition is yet to be determined. Back in 2022, a patch for the first season introduced David’s yellow jacket and Rebecca’s shotgun, Guts. It remains to be seen if Update 2.5 will offer similarly iconic gear or even more extensive content.
